We cordially invite you to join us for our annual Washington Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (WAELA) 2018 CLE Conference! Our goal, as always, is education and information for elder law attorneys who strive to holistically evaluate client needs and provide superior service and support for their communities.
Expect to get both local and national perspectives on where Medicaid and Long-Term Care is going. Sean Bleck will update us on current state Medicaid policies, and Michael Amoruso, current NAELA President and Public Policy expert, will give us a sense of where Congress is headed with the issues that are the backbone of our practices.
Seattle University School of Law Professor and long-time practitioner James Brown will share his practical experience on resolving issues encountered with financial institutions refusing to accept a perfectly good Durable Power of Attorney. Kameron Kirkevold will walk you through an extremely important tool in your problem-solving kit, the Non-Judicial TEDRA agreement. We also provide different perspectives on why approximately 80% of retirees are unprepared for retirement; providing you with ideas to consider for different outcomes.
An optional bonus session is added for those interested: Reverse Mortgage expert, Laura Kiel, will share with you the many changes and nuances of a product few truly understand but one that may be the difference between a life lived and a life lived well.
Location: The Conference Center at SeaTac Airport
